As I mentioned in last week’s savourites, I’m heading off on tour again in a couple of weeks. “Off on tour” has Almost Famous energy but the reality is likely to be solo nights in hotel rooms eating sandwiches (book events tend to just about wrap up at the time that non-metropolitan eateries stop serving food) faintly wracked with guilt about leaving the baby.
Nevertheless! I’m looking forward to it. I’m at the stage with the current manuscript of thinking everything is bad and weird, and as M wearily reminds me, I always get like this at this point. Going out and actually meeting people who say nice things about my books reminds me that not everything stays in binfire shape forever.
I’ve been wanting to do a savour members book event since the hardback tour last year and I’m so pleased to say that we’ve now got one on the horizon!
