on new tastes
How strange, how beautiful. Solo cosi.
Mmm pomelo. One of my favourite fruits. Having fruit for dessert is common in Chinese culture and we shared one between us as dessert after a family meal over Christmas. Communal fruit eating is so evocative to me.
I honestly can’t imagine a better ending to a Christmassy meal. The spectacle! The way it must catch the light! The smell! Lovely x
I love pomelos. I love peeling them. Their peel is like the polystyrene of the fruit world. Oh, and their fragrance. I wish I had one now!
Polystyrene of the fruit world!!! Perfect!!!!
I would also have no idea what to do with a pomelo. I wonder if it’s close enough to a grapefruit that it behaves weirdly with SSRIs...
That’s a very good question, alas I can’t answer it. But there’s something magic about a foodstuff that doesn’t really require a recipe.
I love everything about this. Yes. Get one. x
