It’s been two years and three days since Why Women Grow came out. It’s a book I released less than three weeks before I had a baby, and it’s been funny to watch them both make their way in the world. I maintain that when you release a book it sort of stops being yours; it becomes something on someone else’s shelf, hopefully in someone else’s head. And I’ve been very touched to see the generosity people have poured out towards it, in the sisterhoods it has made. So, a small celebration: a chapter that was destined to be an epilogue but didn’t quite work. I have thoughts on it, but I’d prefer to give you the space to form your own:
